Demetrius D. McClendon Ministries

The “son of a preacher man,” with a literal heart-stopping testimony, Demetrius D. McClendon is a God-gift to the Body of Christ. A true man of God, he fulfills his several callings as minister, husband, father and stellar talent with excellence and just the right touch of holy fervor and flair!

McClendon began his musical ministry at the tender age of five, closing out one of his father’s sermons with “God Has Smiled On Me” to a surprised yet rapt audience and has been ushering people into the presence of God ever since. He began formally studying music at age 10 and is an accomplished musician, songwriter and vocalist. His music ministry has afforded him opportunities to travel throughout the United States as well as abroad, performing as well as conducting workshops and clinics, most recently in Germany. He is a graduate of Huston-Tillotson College where he earned a B.A. in Music (with a concentration in Vocal Performance) and is now pursuing a Master of Arts in Worship Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

As a typical “P.K.” (preachers’ kid) who experienced the highs and lows of being the child of a pastor, McClendon was initially reluctant to answer the call to proclaim the Gospel, knowing what it would involve and the sacrifices he would have to make. He describes his “wrestling match” transition in words much like the prophet Jeremiah: “But his word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones.” He eventually lost that match and at the age of 15, became a willing mouthpiece for the Kingdom. Additionally, McClendon’s near-death testimony that resulted in open-heart surgery at age 15 and the tragic loss of a younger sister in a devastating car accident only served to “season” him, increase his anointing and strengthen his resolve to proclaim the Kingdom of God in Word and song. Revered for his refreshing and witty style of teaching and preaching, he often sends audiences into fits of laughter through his trademark phrase, “somebody ought to write that down!” most often used just after he has shared some particularly profound and original point, and his personal interpretation of “amen” as “yay- to-the-Man!”

A priest, provider and protector of his family, his wife, Alexis, and daughters Mackenzie Alon and Michaela Annise, are the center of his earthly joy. McClendon unashamedly shares, “She [Alexis] has been my anchor of support and motivation and my girls have completely captured my heart.” The McClendons have been married nearly a decade.

McClendon’s vision for ministry is unique, global and multi-faceted, manifesting itself in the parent entity D2M2© and comprised of four ministry divisions; PathWay Productions©, PathWay Records©, PathWay Ministries© and BACMA Publishing©. With a long and healthy tenure as the former Pastor of Worship and Fine Arts at Concord Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, he is currently concentrating on ministry through his vocal group, PathWay© and has been traveling throughout Texas and the southern region. The group’s goal is to create a “pathway” for man to encounter God and experience the “level path of the righteous” found in Isaiah 26:7. PathWay released their first vocal effort in August 2005 entitled, “I’ll Say Yes.”
